Marianne van Silfhout Gallery

Sparkling Flashes  ~  Group Show of 27 Artists

3rd Annual Juried Show

Exhibition Runs Monday, July 5, 2010 to Monday, August 9, 2010

As we see our art in the meditative spirit in which it was created we can enter another level of self-discovery.

The theme "Sparkling Flashes" can be interpreted literally – sparkles on the water, fireworks, a twinkle in someone’s eye – or it can be totally abstract. It can be a moment of self-discovery... a defining moment in time. Please join us at the Gallery and explore the works of 27 artists.

Exhibition Hours:

Tuesday to Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm

Monday and Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm

Opening Reception:

Friday, July 9th  5:00pm - 7:00pm

Hope to see you there!

Marianne van Silfhout Gallery at St. Lawrence College

St. Lawrence College is thrilled to announce that the the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery has officially opened on the Brockville campus. The gallery opened to the public in September 2007.

This state-of-the-art community art gallery is located at the front atrium of the campus and will be a focus for the visual arts for Brockville and the larger Eastern Ontario area. Creation of the gallery was made possible by a major half-million dollar bequest from the estate of Marianne van Silfhout, a graduate of the Fine Art program at St. Lawrence College, as well as numerous donors to the St. Lawrence College Foundation. Behind this gift is Marianne’s belief that wilderness adventure and education and art are inextricably bound together in an experience of enduring value and benefit to humanity. The bequest will also fund bursaries for both part-time and full-time Fine Arts students at St. Lawrence College.
